Thread Odyssey

Thread Odyssey is a non-profit that empowers students of all ages through textile education, offering mobile + pop up enrichment classes and community workshops.

I’m collaborating with Carley Brandau, Founder + Executive Director of Thread Odyssey, and illustrator Iona Fox to brand Thread Odyssey across all touch points. It’s in the process of taking shape.

The branding concept is about taking an intellectual and/or spiritual quest through the different applications of sewing and textiles. We’re basing all visuals on The Odyssey and greek mythology. The main sheep character ‘Leia’, illustrated by Iona Fox, is the main character sewing hero. Leia the sheep will tell the history of textiles and meet friends along the way, leading everyone in creative adventures across project curriculum, printed materials, and in person events. Eventually the nonprofit will operate out of a mobile classroom, such as a van, bus or RV. Where can sewing take you?

More to come as the nonprofit expands!
