Project Background

Teikametrics launched a new podcast that dives into the dynamic intersection of human intelligence and cutting-edge technology within the ever-evolving landscape of e-commerce.

In case you don’t already know (I sure didn’t!): A Human in the Loop is the combination of humans and machines to achieve a result far greater than either could achieve on their own. To be a Human in the Loop is to leverage technology—the machine—far to surpass the complex challenges in e-commerce today.

Challenge

The AI e-commerce space is already ripe with podcasts, but Teikametrics knew they had a unique approach and voice to add to the conversation. The Sr. Manager, Content & Community at Teikametrics was quickly launching Human in the Loop podcast without any logo or branding in less than 2 months time. They came to me with a logo design they mocked up and not much else, so I worked quickly to research and iterate. Leveraging this podcast will bring additional eyes on the brand, as well as fortify their positioning in the ever-growing AI e-commerce software industry.

Logo
I spent some time doing market research by looking at AI e-commerce podcasts and how they leverage their logo and branding to stand out in the apps. I set some parameters:

  • The logo should align with the provided inspiration sketch & Teikametrics logo

  • The branding should use Teikametrics brand colors

  • The podcast cover art should stand out in the apps and reflect the energy of the host and it’s guests

  • The branding should be futuristic, tech focused, take some creative risks and be very dynamic

Branding
I designed two distinct color way templates and a design system for Teikametrics in-house designer to take and run with. Since it was a brand new endeavor and something they wanted to launch quickly, they hadn’t fully scoped out every channel they’d be promoting the podcast on. They knew they’d most likely be posting on LinkedIn, and probably creating a podcast specific landing page as well as send out emails on occasion. The branding is flexible and smoothly translates across any channel or medium. Their designer will easily be able to create swag, neon signs, billboards, you name it!

Results

Thanks to the content, guests, and wonderful host Cameron Yoder, the podcast already has a 5 star rating on Apple podcasts with over 30 episodes! The branding stands out so nicely in the podcast app and is very memorable. It’s fresh, electric, enticing, harmonious with Teikametrics overarching brand identity, and will serve the podcast well for years to come.
