BEGA North America Website Redesign

Specifiers regularly lauded BEGA North America’s ‘before’ website as one of the best in the lighting manufacturer industry. Knowing that our partners loved our website, we had to improve the visual design and UX/UI without breaking what worked really well for them: search tools, being able to visually navigate our portfolio, and having access to product specifications easily.

I worked cross-functionally with the President of the company, the VP of Sales and Marketing, Product Management, Solutions Engineering, and Sales team to complete this project. I developed concepts, showcased and critiqued design comps, researched customer segments and discussed the end-user’s needs in depth. The user research we compiled showed us experiences our customers wanted and needed. For example, they asked us to provide more project photos, larger product shots, and a way to download a full technical packet in one click. Experience the website for yourself.

My teammate and I produced hundreds of images and technical documents to fill the interface. I took the initiative to develop in-depth asset management systems allowing my team to build website assets efficiently, saving countless hours and money.

All of the effort we put into it paid off; the monthly website traffic grew 300%!

BEGA's press release said it best, “In a digital world, a company’s website is the most important element of its identity system. Over the last year, BEGA’s marketing team took on the challenge of re-thinking and redesigning the BEGA North America website. Countless hours were spent discussing needed functionality, an enhanced user interface, and how best to prepare for the future. Months of effort went into creating digital assets, finalizing code and building out content for launch day. Praised from both inside and outside the lighting industry, our new website even received an honorable mention from the web design community and our friends at awwwards.com. Congratulations team. Thank you for all your hard work, and for making this project a tremendous success!”

Homepage Before and After

We greatly improved first impressions by transforming the homepage. It went from constricted and nonsensical to navigate, to full browser and easy to navigate. We provided many opportunities to showcase BEGA’s stunning product lifestyle shots.

Product Overview Page Before & After

We used large product images to make it easier for our customers to visually navigate between product categories. Breaking the product portfolio into sections (Exterior, Interior) helps them quickly find the type of luminaire they need.

Projects Page Before & After

The project page was desperate for an overhaul. We included a visual navigation with hover effects that show the project name and location. We also built a project category filter. Now, the project pages have plenty of large images and interesting content to read.
